My dad was a weird guy

The title pretty much says it. I remember when I was 12 or 13, my father used to make lights go out. At first when he told me, I thought he was nuts. So did my mom. But he would walk by certain lights (street lights mostly) and they would always go out. I even remember certain instances where he would point at a light and it would go out. I don't see how anyone could do that with out some sort of a device.

In retrospective, I can only speculate with my limited knowledge that it may have been some kind of a weird electro-biological thing where he caused lights to go off. It's the only logical thing I can think of given what I know. That's really all I can say about the instances, so I've come to you all to seek more logical speculations. I'm not very text book educated, so I figure looking to people with more knowledge in the field of science would be a good start to understanding why such seemingly unusual things happened to him.
