Hi all, :)

 

There are two questions which I'm having difficulty finding information on. Hoping someone can help me. I'm researching on the rationale for the addition of serum to tissue culture, I know serum consists of growth factors which may enhance cell growth but a serum-free cell culture is more desirable? Why? :confused:

Secondly CO2 enriched environments: it acts as an natural buffering system, is there any other purpose to CO2 enriched environment? Maybe as a sterilisation technique as well?
