Limiting reagents

4 Zn + 10 HNO_3 ----> 4 Zn(NO_3)_2 + NH_4NO_3 + 3H20

if i am given 29.1g of nitric acid and 10.0 g of zinc and zinc is the limiting reagent. How do i set up my equation to find how much ammonium nitrate will be formed?

its 1:07, and this stoicheometry stuff is a pain for me:mad:

I'm going to assume it's balanced, from a quick glance, it does appear so.

Take the masses you have of each, convert them to moles. Then, when they are in moles, you can simply use the numerical ratios in the balanced equation to figure out the moles of ammonium nitrate that will be formed.
