Lee Smolin and Brian Greene debate String Theory

Featured Replies

thanks, I don't remember if we had a link to this at the time (back in August)

I remember listening to it----Ira Flatow: NPR Science Friday.

At that time Smolin's book had not come out yet-----it was scheduled to start selling September 20 or so. But people were advance ordering.

It wasnt obvious then that the book would sell so well.

Around 30 August it went to #2 on the physics bestsell list, and it has been in the top 4 since then----for a month or so it was actually #1 best seller.

I am glad Brian Greene consented to do the double-interview with Smolin on the radio. I think a lot of people who are interested in science probably do catch some of NPR "Science Friday", and it is possible that that interview is partly responsible for kicking off sales to a good start.

Smolin also toured. when he was out in San Francisco, I got him to autograph two copies of the book for me and a friend :D
