Odd question: would removal of a thyroid cause odor

Recommended Posts

Removal of the thyroid gland should not cause any smell.

I am going to reply to this post under the assumption that "odd smelling"= foul smelling, and not the smell of roses...

Well, any malodor post surgery should alert one to a possible source of infection or infectious process. It does not necessarily have to be in the area of surgery itself, but could be localised in a nearby area...

So, what i wud do is go c the doctor and tell him/her about the odor, and if it turns out to be a case of bad breath, then one hasnt lost anythin but a bit of time, but if turns out to be infection or some other thing, then one might have saved him/herself future complications..
