SCART socket as power source ?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to draw a little power from a SCART socket on a video recorder,

e.g. 1millamp @ approx 10 Volts (DC), to power a pre-amp circuit.

I dont know the hackability of the SCART. It 'could' cause a possible disruption in the normal/original flow. If you are planing to hook it while its transmiting.

What exactly are you trying to do? By the sounds of it you want to put your SCART lead into your home made circuit and then feed that into, your TV? Speakers?

If you draw a current from a SCART lead that is in use it could possibly corrupt the signal or, at least, weaken it.

One SCART lead doesn't cost too much, so I'd say; try it! And tell us how it goes.
