i need help ....... so i chalenge any one to come up with the longest list of energy transfers that they can! i need at least 10+. the first thing must start with the sun thanks for your help:-)

What do you mean?

 

Do you mean like chemical to thermal?

 

Or do you need an examples? If you need examples then can you use the same transformations multiple time? For example could I give 5 different example of chemical to heat transfers?

 

Or one sec, you say it has to start with the sun... so do you want a list that can happen with the same energy? Like:

sun --> electrical (solar panel) --> kinetic (pull something) --> thermal (friction) etc.

I know Holly because shes a friend and what she means is something like this, for example:

 

Crude oil is made into gasoline

Gasoline is used to fuel trucks to transport animals

Also used to transport feed for animals.

Animals, such as pigs, get fat and are sold.

Diesel is used as fuel to take sold animals to a slaughter house

It then in turns take it to food industries.

The food industries take the slaughtered food and cook it

We eat it.

 

 

She wants something like this only with the sun as the beginning source of energy.

Starting with

 

1) Thermal (from the sun)

2) Electrical (solar panel)

3) Thermal (electric heater heats water)

4) Kinetic (water moves and turns turbine)

5) Electrical (turbine generates this) + thermal (friction causes heat) + sound (rotating turbine makes a noise)

6) Kinetic (lifting a wieght) + thermal (friction in motor causes heat)

7) Potential (wieght being held in above ground level)

8) Kinetic (wieght falls to the floor)

 

well, and from here we can repeat the process all over again...

 

9) Kinetic (weight moves turbine)

10) Electrical (turbine generates electricity)

 

and then you have electricity, so you can do anything.

12) Kinetic (high frequency sound shatters glass)

13) Sound + thermal (as glass hits ground)
