Tiny (3aa) nuclear localisation signal?

Featured Replies

The monopartite nuclear localization signal of autoimmune regulator mediates its nuclear import and interaction with multiple importin α molecules

as i understand it, the above paper is saying that AIRE has a monopartite nuclear localisation signal just 3 amino acids in length (lys-arg-lys)...

does that mean that if i stick lys-arg-lys onto the end of any protien, that it'll get concentrated in the nucleus? seems a tad small...
