how often do you find the heavy elements in their elemental form? rarely(exceptions being the platinum group). they are usually in compouds where the density is a whole lot lower. this brings up the nice physical aspect of buoyancy. this is why we still have heavy elements up here. not to mention the flows in the mantle that cause volcanoes. thes would also bring up heavier stuff. the earth is still geologically active.
