Germinating radish seeds

Featured Replies

In my science class we are testing the affect of different concentrations of fertilizer for germinating radish seeds. The radish seeds with fertilizer added to distilled water didnt grow, they were attacked by a fungi but that dosn't matter...

The control did germinate however (no fertilizer) and there are these purple stains on the paper towel which holds the seeds to the side of the beaker.

Everyone elses control also had these purple stains, how did these stains get there?

Also, Perlite was used to soak the distilled water.

Sorry I can't provide pictures.

edit: I need to write this report by thursday, I will check on the experiment again tomorrow. Any discussion on the experiment would be helpfull...
