Hey! I know its incredibly cheeky please excuse me but I just wanted to ask you a chemistry-related question..

 

Could anybody tell me what product would be obtained when estrone (C18H22O2) is treated with C6H5MgBr followed by acidification with dilute mineral acid?

 

I dont usually have a problem with these types of questions but this one has a few of us stumped!?

 

If any of you could help it would be great.

you get the nucleophilic addition product- the carbonyl is reduced to an alcohol and the formerly carbonyl carbon has a phenyl group attached to it.
