How efficient are commercial wind turbines in producing electrical energy?

By the the term commerical wind turbines, I mean the ones they use in Wind farms.

Yeah it's for kids But it does say that wind machines have an efficiency, in converting kinetic energy to electrical energy, of 30-40%.

I was wondering since most of Australia's windfarms are along the coast, would any of these be offshore windfarms??

 

I know there are plenty around the world. Just interested in Aus. Thanks!

Most windfarms are offshore, afaik. More wind/less disruption to landscape, etc.
