Is there anyway i can configure what programs automatically load at startup?

I got this realy bigass program that loads at startup and eats all my memory and cpu.while i want to keep this program i want to be able to choose when i start it up.

Yeah... go to:

Start Menu > Run > msconfig > Startup

Then untick the ones you don't want, then Apply > OK

When you boot up next time there will be a little message saying that the Sys config has been changed, tick the box so the message doesn't appear every time you boot and click OK.

NB: This assumes you are using winXP

NB2: Be careful what you are disabling. You could disable your firewall and AV. Also just because it says Microsoft doesn't mean it is good - for example you don't need MS Office running at startup.

Good list of Windows Processes and info can be found here:

If you want to double check something then look it up there, if you're not sure if you actually *need* it then ask here.
