:confused: can someone tell me, why do you have to halve the hight a triangle to find the area.

Because if you placed an equal triangle next to the one you have you´d get a parallelogramm which has the area base*height.

Thanks Atheist, I'd always questioned my son about that and never got an answer that solved it. I'll pass it on to him so we can settle this once and for all....Thanks again
