Simple Word Technique

Featured Replies

Please have a short look on the format below.

A:1

B:2

C:3

D:4

This is the Multiple Choice question format in my word.

I want to arrange them into

A:1aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa B:2

C:3aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa D:4

There are lots of questions which I have to rearrange. Since I always see the required format/arrangement(white words represent space)in my teachers' papers, I wonder if someone here knows this technique and teaches me.

Thanks for attention.

What format is the data in?

Like are the answers on paper? Or in a Word document? Or a pdf file?

Word.

I dunno. I've never heard of any such feature within Word. It seems an unusual thing to want to do.

Is it to try and save space on printing or something?

Word.

You could try columns, a able or something like that :)

if you can work out hwo to do any of the above they should be close to what your looking for! (Table would probably be the best).

I can't really give you exact instructions because I use OpenOffice.org :)

I think he wanted to sort the data automatically.

It's easy to get a table in Word, but I don't know if you can automatically place data in it. From what I made of the first post he has many questions in the format

A

B

C

D

and he wants to arrange it in the format

AAAAAAAAAAAAB

CCCCCCCCCCCCD

Automatically, (white letters represent space). I don't know how to do that.

You could with some complex VBA macros :)

May I know if anyone here has idea?

I have one more idea, though its quite complex.

Like you can do with mailmerge, do something like that with a VBA maxro and a word document template. Then simply insert the data into the template via a VBA macro, quite complex but it should work great!
