female by cloning?

It is said that females can't be created(almost difficult) by Cloning. Is it true? Whether it is true or false ,can you tell the reasons for your answer:embarass:

Why would it be any more difficult? Dolly the sheep was actually the first animal (Yes animal (large) - bacteria were cloned first though they do reporduce by a cloning method (asexual - binary fission) anyway... :eek:).

 

I think this is rubbish - if anyhting females should be easier to clone because they have two "X" cromosomes while males have one "Y" and one "X" chromosome. (There are 22 other pairs too by the way).

 

I actually think that this is rubbish too and so I think that both are just as easy to clone. Where did you hear this form if I may ask :)

Based on the cloning technologies currently available, it is actually easier to clone females than males (since donor nuclei are generally taken from cumulus cells [cells which surround the egg], which are only found in females).
