Thermal Reactions

Featured Replies

I am looking for liquids or substances that turn black when heated. I know anything can be burned, but i want something that would turn black on a controlled bases.

or perhaps something that would turn black due to the reaction of positve or negative charges?

Coffee? ;)

What you are asking for fate sounds like a liquid crystal display, or LCD screen. They are clear until you pass a current through them, at which point they become opaque. So it is a controlable change.

Or do you mean a substance (liquid?) that allows light to pass through it, but under certain conditions blocks light?

You can accomplish the latter mechanically with polarized filter orientations.
