Octanoic Acid in Human Serum

Featured Replies

I am using octanoic (caprylic) acid to remove albumin from my human serum samples for further processing. However once I have carried out the fractionation, my sample has a slight blue colour (which is very apparent when concentrated!) - does anyone know what reaction is occurring or why this colour has appeared? Is there anything I can do to prevent it?!

Thanks very much for your help
