How to cross/break an azeotrope?

Andreas Clark

Recommended Posts

A pressure-sensitive azeotrope can be shifted/moved in a single volume without adding any entrainer. By adding an inert gas (e.g. nitrogen), the dew pressure of condensable vapours within said single volume can be varied, while keeping the total pressure constant.
