Multiverse and Time Travel

Featured Replies

This is just a theory, and I don't know if anyone else has come up with it. My theory is about how time travel relies upon the multiverse being a reality. The Multiverse is pretty self explanatory, in that for each and every outcome of an incident another universe is created. Meaning there could quite possibly be a universe where dinosaurs still exist and the Nazis won WWII. For time travel to exist though there must first be a multiverse, this way a paradox won't create an absolute ending. A great example is the grandfather paradox, in which someone goes back in time and kills their grandfather, But if they do that they were never born, which then means they weren't able to go back in time and kill their grandfather. with the multiverse it would still break that universe, but it would not destroy the space/time continuum. At the same time though, time travel does not have to be possible for the multiverse to exist.
