Voltaic Cell

Featured Replies

I am trying to solve this chemistry problem about a voltaic cell: the standard electromotive force of MnO4-, H3O+/ Mn2+ is 1.51V and the rest of the problem is in the picture. The problem asks to find the total electromotive force at 25 °C and to write the reactions occurring in the anode and in the cathode. I know I have to use Nernst equation but I can't figure out how to use the information given about the pH and the ionization constant of the compounds in the anode and in the cathode.  Could you please give me a hint? Thanks in advance!
