maths trouble

Featured Replies

Well to begin . I'm crap at maths and I have a test after the weekend is over , I didn't turn up to maths class the other day and now I missed out and forgot what I'm supposed to know about in/equations . darn .

If anyone can spare a little time explaining to me how I'm suppose to approach :

  1. Simultaneous Solutions
  2. Gradients
  3. intercepts

With an example to use :

inequation : 3x-5y<15

and

equation : 2t-4c=11

It would very nice of you .. thanks heaps in advance

You are like saying, "how am I approached to English Punctuation".

I can tell you what is intercept and gradient, but not system of equation, it is just something flexible in the sense of mathematical logic, making algebraic term meaningful to you, and thus form a meaningful serie of equations to solve certain problem.

1) intercept, the y value, which the line cross the y axis. For example, y = x+5, if x is 0, the point situates at y value 5, which is the intercept, or y= x2 + x - 2, then if x is 0, -2 is the intercept, again, where the line cross the y axis.

2) gradient, as simple as: (y value - intercept)/(corresponding x value)

Respond if you dont understand

I feel you should make some efforts on yourself, asking you teacher, for example.
