I have a quick question.

How many extra or fewer chromosomes can humans have and still survive?Does the same hold true for plants?

I was just wondering if anyone could please tell me how and/or link me to websites that tell me how cells can be induced to grow and divide in vitro. I keep looking online but I haven't found any articles/websites where it actually explains why it's possible and the process of it.
