  1. It might sould like a retarded question, but I'm just asking it to make sure: If you have a cube magnet like this https://www.magnet4sale.com/xcart4/product.php?productid=16310&cat=287&page=1)= and you get one of those and stick them both together, whould the field on the poles be 2 times stronger, i mean, would it have more pulling power? Thanks a lot, I appreciate the help!!! ;) ;) ;)
  2. well, i saw those stats. that say for example gasoline can burn at 2400 degrees max, and natural gas like 3000 or something, because every flamable thing has a limit on high the temperature can get, i mean you can't make a 5000 degree fire with wood for example. I'm aware that the temp. depends on a lot of things like oxygen etc. but if isopropyl burns at around 50 C, dang, that's not even enough to make you say ouch
  3. just spraying some and burning it in regular air. I just wanna have a general idea, don't need anything exact. I just want to know if it's chemically possible to melt something with it, so a variation of +/- 50-100 degrees C won't do any harm.
  4. I was looking for an answer in degrees, because i suck at chem. forumula calculation stuff
  5. I've searched all over the place, and i can't find it. So does anyone know what the flame temperature of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol is? P.S. Doesn't matter if it's 70%, 99%, or 100%
  6. I've hard of that liquid stuff that "burns" (some say it's not actually buring, but whatever) at about 30 C. Where could i buy some of that, souds awsome!
  7. yeah but if the manget is resting on some object, the object doensn't need energy to hold the magnet up, Just like you don't have to plug in your chair before you sit on it in order to hold you up!
  8. when you have a magnet, say 5 inches off the ground, and the magnet weighs 5N. The amount of energy it took to lift lets say is X. Then you slide a nail under it, and gets pulled up. Now, the magnet and nail all togheder have, say 8Newtons, and so it has more potential energy. So when you release them, it drops and more kinetic energy is released than the energy you used to lift the magnet up. Where's the flaw on this? Seems good to me!
  9. oh sweet. one more thing before i start modding, do all black film negatives block all light except IR, or do they have to be special etc.?
  10. so could you still guess the hotter objects by knowing how light they are and stuff like that?
  11. I don't know if this is in the right section, but I've seen some tutorials where they show you how to change your camera into an infrared camera, and if you get a IR flashlight it's really cool. BUT... i've seen some stuff that is even cooler http://sprott.physics.wisc.edu/photos/clint/INFRARED.JPG you get the idea... I was wondering how you could do that, and why the regular infrared cameras are monochrome. I'm pretty good with cameras and i'm aware that you can change the apeture value and stuff to adjust the light intake so you picture could show the red/green/blue stuff like in the image. Any help is appreciated!!!
  12. so what, the guy's probably rich.. so i could say he would be more sucesfull that most people today. who gives if it's brilliant or what...
  13. i was just saying, i don't have the opportunity to do this testing, but it would be cool, just have a tank and press a button when you want boost, and the extra oxygen will mix in the carburator, you also have the chip in the car that would mess with the pressure, etc. I don't know if you can make money off this stuff because i bet some1 already thought of it, but if anyone of you wanna try hey, good luck... and if you suceed, keep in mind u jacked the idea from someone.. neah, lol jk!
  14. oxygen is going to go in there anyways... cars can take it, i mean, some places like high up in the mountains there is more concentration of oxygen in the air than in urban areas... the engine doesn't blow when you are driving it in the woods... ...as for the oxydation, that won't be a problem, cuz normal cars that have TURBO don't rust, so if you add a little more O2 then not like it will make a big difference; and the knocking, well, if you have the same ratio of gas - air - O2 in each piston, it should burn uniformly... you're basically saing that your car will blow if you put higher octane gas, because it burns faster... wrong!
  15. yeah, something like that...
  16. not really, i mean the guy who stacked 20 volleyballs on top of each other for example, that's called skill.
  17. hey, most of you don't get the point. You are TRYING to get an explosion in the piston, so it will expand quickly and produce the horses. No one would be an idiot and pump like 20 PSI of pure oxygen, all you are trying to do is add a little bit, enough to improve performance. Most pistons, like in the Mustang Cobra, already have cast-iron pistons, and so you won't worry about blowing them up or melting them. Dragsters use some other fuel that they say burns 7 times hotter/quicker than gasoline. Little amounts of high concentrated oxygen in the carburator won't hurt, and plus, like i said, you would get an intercooler and cool down the pistons before re-using the boost.
  18. so you can't like "make a motor" or something and produce energy with a magnet...
  19. some cars have Nitrous Oxide (N2O or NOS) to boost acceleration, but that stuff hurts your engine ... so i was thinking, wouldn't it be smarter to use pure oxygen (or very high oxygen concentration in air) in a tank and use that for an extra boost.. you know, mix it in the turbo-charger, so that you get the 20PSI mixture of mist gasoline + lots of oxygen = a he!! of a boost:cool: i know it will cause the temp to rise, but hey, you don't use it all the time, and if you get an intercooler it should be good!
  20. Do magnets have energy, and if yes, can you get them to do work? Sorry again for the n00b question..
  21. not more common than "I" think, cuz i know this world is patrolled by too many idiots... some people find it hard to believe, but hey...
  22. hey, no offense, but you would have to be a complete dumb@$$ to kill youself with a toaster... just a suggestion there
  23. cool, how much do you have to heat it, could i stick it in a toaster or something... and will it make that much of an increase? Thanks
