  1. To confuse the rat and making it think it got the real stuff I would think to keep the difference between them as little as possible. It sure can't hurt to do it.
  2. Just to give you a few examples of many little magnets on one piece of metal: Your old cassette tapes, the harddisk that is sitting in your PC tells you how many magnets are on it. 1bit = 1magnet
  3. Can't we use the moon in any way?, why not? Why I ask?, it's an interesting question because there are endless solutions, one better than the other. Would a computer program be able to calculate it, I mean the min. cost? (including choosing time and route) P.S 'the guy' has the name 'Kedas' here
  4. If you take both pills at ones what effect do you get? (only the side effect I assume)
  5. How much energy would it take to dump something on the sun? So basically what does it take to bring something in lower orbit, low enough to make it eventually drop on the sun? Using other planets/moon allowed.

    in case you like some other, all numbers at the right of '=' are base 10 base 2: 11 = 3 base 3: 11 = 4 base 4: 11 = 5 base 5: 11 = 6 ... base 10: 11 = 11 base 3: 22 = 8 ... 11=17 find the base (should be easy now)

  8. I just want to add that one of the advantages of writing the formula with heights is that it can easily be represented graphically. (The total energy is the distance between two parallel lines you draw) it's the same as the more known v²/2 + P/d + gZ = Cte but devided by g v²/2g + P/dg + Z = H
  9. no it isn't this is a copy of what's on that site: So they clearly refer to XP 64-bit Edition. this probably mean that there will be two Professional versions (-XP Home) -XP Pro -XP 64-bit Edition. (based on the Professional version) So most likely the 64bit version will cost even more than the Professional version. (I hope I'm wrong about this) But the Itanium version should be an other one than the AMD64 one so I'm not sure.
  10. Anyway it would be nice to see what XP 64bit can do that shouldn't take to long now, a few more months.
  11. ah, you like to buy cheap ones
  12. if I'm not mistaken the Pro supports 2 CPU's the home only one. That important when they come with there dual core cpu's. and then there are all the more extra's for more professional networks. (don't know the details)
  13. You usualy get a cable with your HDD there isn't really a point in keeping it unless for changing a broken one.
  14. You always have a rotation unless your force is going through the mass center of that free object. (but praktical that can't really be done there is always a mistake, only gravity can dot it perfect) When there are other forces present that would generate the opposite rotation then the rotation will be zero. Also keep in mind that in many situation the force isn't going through its mass center and still there is no rotation, that is because there are correcting forces present to put the object back in it's previous position. for example when you see a roket launch on TV that is going wrong in many cases is't starting to change diretion fast (rotate) because something about the correcting forces failed. But correcting forces don't have to be so advanced a simple arrow is also equiped with correction tools. at the end of the arrow there are feders these make sure that the arrow isn't starting to rotate during its flight. if you put the feders before the mass center of the arrow (at the top) you will see that the arrow will rotate very easily.
  15. yes, the ground wires make the difference for speed. (cleaner signals)
  16. If you are not allowed to have access then it's still wrong. (law or no law) I have a network that I maintain but that doesn't mean I'm allowed to read everything on the computers of my family members. (unless you are a father/mother of a young child)
  17. Well they say that the earth did spin faster (microseconds) due to moving mass, but they also said it will be a temporarily change so I guess the same is true for the average ground level. (although for specific areas the story could be different I guess.) although on this site they talk about a permanent effect. http://tvnz.co.nz/view/news_world_story_skin/466502%3fformat=html
  18. Hi, Everything you ask is already here on the forum so use the search function. (if you have trouble finding it I can help you finding it) for knowing where to look in the sky some program(s) will help you with that. and forget about magnification that isn't your first priority, trust me. you will also find links to other sides in the messages. about the link you gave magnification 700mm/x mm (eyepiece) isn't given. but you are not gone get very far with a 60mm. is it to play with it and then buy a real one ones she likes it? edit: I just see that's she is 5years old so yes to play with it's fine you can't do much wrong if you don't give much money. the moon and nature around (on earth, like Birds) can be viewed. never let her look at the sun not even with a filter make sure she knows that very well!!.

you ask when? Well that's about 9months later.
  20. sub units have notthing to do with it, 3' and 4' would be 1' and 2' if the zero would be located at 2'. (all the same units) The same for temperature 0°C means it's hot. on the kelvin scale 0K means it lost ALL its heat.
  21. They use pounds for mass like kilogram. and pounds force or dyne for force like newton. I'm not 100% sure although someone should know for sure here.
  22. The first news message I had about it talked about 300 dead. Seems the world underestimate(d) the effects big time. and some places still haven't got first aid. http://www.iht.com/articles/2004/12/28/news/toll.html about wrong numbers. There were still 30 missing Belgians yesterday due to a misscommunication the missing persons is only 9 now today. (and 2more dead unfortunately) The worst thing that I heard on TV is that on some places they count the living instead of the dead.
  23. Just so you wouldn't assume the wrong definitions of the units: http://www1.bipm.org/en/si/base_units/ The kelvin, unit of thermodynamic temperature, is the fraction 1/273.16 of the thermodynamic temperature of the triple point of water. not about freezing and boiling. And 0 Kelvin well is 0 Kelvin that's simple. The only one that I see as weak as the pound is the kilogram. but ones we understand gravity much better we can change that one
