The solar panels are useless during the rainy days. Some researchers of Quingdao, China has developed a new type of solar panel that will generate electricity from rain drop.

They have layered a single atom thick coat of graphene. We all know that graphane is a great conductor. The rain water will generate free electrons due to Lewis acids and bases reaction. As a result, the overall efficiency of the system increases manifold.

I think it is mostly a cultural thing. But it is true that in most cultures fairer skin color is preferred. Actually, it relates to human history in which most of the time darker skinned people were dominated by fairer people (example: aboriginals of India by Aryans, Uzbek, Turks and British).

The existence of a plant depends upon sunlight. So, it is very natural that their growth will be affected by sunlight.

You have a lot of land to play with. If you do some experiment with bio fertilizers and natural pesticides you can grow more. You need to have a small lab to do all these.
