  1. i am thinking that its something to do with this but this involves 3D stuff, so i think i need to simplify it down...yeah?
  2. hmm i am getting confused... ok lets start from the begining.... we are given that [math] \lambda = v \rho [/math] then i think i need to somehow manipulate the equation in my first post...hmmmmm
  3. then i get this [math] D = \sqrt{\frac{2kl}{\frac{1}{2}k(sin(2la)+la/k)+lcos^2(la)}} [/math] and [math] F = \sqrt{\frac{2kle^{2ka}cos^2(la)}{\frac{1}{2}k(sin(2la)+la/k)+lcos^2(la)}} [/math]

  8. Hi all I was wondering how you go about normalising the even bound state wavefunction for the finite square well? eg. so i have to find F and D. this what i got so far: i can't seem to find the answer to this 'normalising' problem anywhere! any ideas guys? Thanks Sarah

  14. yeah latex is defintely the way to go. If your using a mac (like me! ) use a program called "TeXShop", its free and really really good!
