  1. Hello, I would like to bring to your notice the following points. As far as we know, Mass is continuous where as charge is quantised. Mass varies according to relativity and charge is invariant ( perhaps due to quantities ) Since charge is invariant, we need another force to balance electric force that is dependent on velocity so that the time dilation equation is satisfied. This force is magnetic force. You may combine time dilation and other equations of relativity with electrostatics to obtain equations of magnetism. Since mass is already dependent on velocity, there is little chance for the existence of gravitomagnetism. As always nature has something to surprise us.
  2. Hello Friends, Please forgive me for asking such a crazy doubt. Relativity explains gravity as curvature of space-time and all objects under the influence of a mass follows a straight path in 4D space time which can be visualised as curved in 3D perception . Now my doubt is, of gravitation was not a force and just a curvature in space-time , why does a small mass ( at rest with respect to another larger one ) get attracted to each other. Since the mass was at rest, it doesn't have to follow any path in modified space-time , right ?
  3. We know the fact that force due to gravity is F1=GMm/r^2 Now subtract your constant air drag from it, say F2 The net force is F=F1-F2 =GMm/r^2 - F2 Now to get acceleration , divide by m a = GM/r^2 - F2/m This is dependent upon mass Heavier the mass, less retarding effect, faster the object falls down.
  4. According to Einstein, gravitation can be understood as a modification in the curvature of space-time and it explains most of the present observations. But still we cannot be sure of anything. We don't know what space is... We don't know what a field is (Electric and Magnetic) ... We can control Electric and Magnetic fields each other . But what about gravity ? There must be a relationship between all fundamental forces because they all have something in common : 'space-time' penetration . Understanding space-time can help mankind explain some more unexplained observations.
