  1. Currently, I am creating a trailer like holder and am figuring out the design of the telescope itself.
  2. Yes, the time is partly a problem as well. I am still trying to figure out ways to shorten the process.
  3. To give a basic idea of how I am thinking of shaping the glass here is a link: https://stellafane.org/tm/atm/ Of course, this process with take lots and lots of time.
  4. Just so you all know, I am not looking for a telescope mirror of that size. I am looking for a piece of glass which I can shape and make into a mirror.
  5. I need the glass for a telescope primary mirror. It needs to be that thick so it is not distorted when exposed to different temperatures.
  6. Okay, I need a 35 inch by 5 inch thick circle of Pyrex glass. And it is not an attempt to make something bullet proof. I was only not being very specific because I can make due with any piece of Pyrex glass that is 35+ inches by 35+ inches by 5 inches thick. The problem that I seem to find is that no supplier makes these sheets at that thickness.
  7. Hello, need a really large piece of glass for a project and am hoping you all could help. Also, I would prefer for the sheet to be made from Pyrex glass. Thank you
  8. Well, I was thinking about repurposing this parabolic mirror that I have from a GreenPower project that I did. And I have had some experience with telescope making. I know it will be quiet the challenge to make such a large telescope, but I feel like giving it a shot.
  9. Hello, I am going to start to create my own telescope and was wondering if I could get away with having a thin primary telescope mirror. Please tell me if this will ruin my telescope. I was thinking about making the telescope out of a parabolic mirror that is 35" by 1/2" thick. I have also heared that by exposing a thin parabolic mirror to different temperatures it changes its shape causing it to move its focal point, is that true?

  11. Hello, I am 13 year old trying to better understand other thoughts and opinions in opposition/ difficulties with this experiment.
  12. Could the matter that is sucked into the black hole be crushed into an infinitely dense ball, similar to the one which started our universe. I have other ideas about this thought, but wanted to see what other people have to say about it.
