  1. Hello. I am currently working on a project which requires me to design an electrical circuit. My aim is to use piezoelectric actuators in parallel (5-10 mm dia), and giving them a voltage of 9V using a signal generator. I want the actuators to vibrate in the 500-800 Hz range. Keeping in mind that I have to incorporate this in a light weight application, how do I proceed about this? Thank you.
  2. Hey there. I was just wondering if there is a particular pattern for preparing a review paper? The theoretical and experimental papers usually have a specific pattern, but I am not sure about review papers. Any help would be greatly appreciated, guys. Thanks.
  3. Hey, guys, I need your opinion on something. There is this National level conference in my country and I had sent a review paper for the presentation. I received the news that it has been rejected far too late (I had already made my travel plans), but in retrospect, I had done a really shoddy work. It was a fiasco. Anyway, I have the opportunity here to attend the conference. My friends tell me it's not worth it. But on the other hand, the exposure there can help me a lot, since I want to pursue a career in the field of research. What would you do if you were in my place? Thank you.
  4. Hey, guys. Right, I have a dilemma regarding this matter. I need the piezoelectric actuator to vibrate at high frequency. What kind of power source should I be looking at? The application is for something compact. As far as my knowledge goes, DC will move it just once, but AC will give it a vibration. Is that the case? What other inputs can you give me? Thank you!
  5. Hey, guys. I need your help and advice on something. Me and my guide were planning to pursue a research paper on the HCCI engine (Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition), which was supposed to be an experimental paper. The problem is we are unable to find the testing rig in the country itself. So now, we are planning on pursuing different alternatives. One of them is using Matlab for analysis, simulating the engine conditions and obtaining results. Other is modifying the diesel engine and using it to perform as the HCCI engine. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? Any other ideas?
  6. Well, I do have my guide/adviser. We are working on the HCCI engines. I was told by him that publishing a paper on science direct will cost a lot of money. Is it true? I am aware of the scrutiny to which the paper will be subjected in terms of the analysis and experimental results.
  7. Hey, guys. My name is Chirag and I am new to the forum. I wanted to know, what is the procedure to get a paper published in the sciencedirect website, or any other international journals? But of course, the first is the priority. I am currently working on a few papers which I will be presenting on the national level, but I was just curious. Thank you!
