  1. Hello I am a student currently studying the effects of viscosity and density on the frequency response of a QCM. I have been using aqueous glycerol mixtures of late but is there an alternative? The benefits of glycerol being that there is plenty of scientific literature available describing the physical properties of it's aqueous mixtures AND that glycerol molecules are small enough to enter the pores of the substrate I have deposited on the crystal (ipso facto NOT polymer solutions). Is there another liquid (or possibly even a soluble solid) that has these two main traits associated that I could potentially use instead? In short, can someone suggest an alternative to glycerol that is water soluble/miscible, isn't polymeric and has complete literature tables for viscosity/density that I could use for my research? Thanks Luke
