  1. Hello, Is there anyone who could tell me why is Lambda phage's DNA linear while in the head od the phage, but circularized when inside of the bacteria, that is; why those sticky ends join while inside of the bacteria, but not when in phage's head? Thank you
  2. Hello science lovers, I have a question regarding toxin-antitoxin systems; why do the cells that don't inherit the plasmid containing genes encoding for poison and antidote die? If they don't inherit that plasmid, they will not have genes that encode for neither the poison nor the antidote, but why do they die if they can't produce poison that would eventually kill them? Thank you!
  3. It is important to note that these mutations do not occur because of the interaction with the antibiotics, they occur by chance and the overall resistence is a product of resistent bacterias(the ones where the mutation occured by chance) multiplying and creating large numbers of resistant bacterias(some of them can also mutate back to the original state and lose their resistance).
  4. This all makes sense, but I am couriosu what is the analogous mechanism in eukaryotes then, I know eukaryotes also have two different Met-tRNAs, one for the START codon and the other for Methionine downstream of the START codon, how do they differ?
