Does anyone know of a good science program during the summer

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am writing this because i am a future scientist looking for something to advance his career. I want to do something productive and I hope that someone could help me. I am in 11th grade and my area of science I excel in is chemistry, mainly Organic Chemistry. Its just something about the subject that just, how do you describe it, it just clicks and I am able to just do it like its second nature or something. Anyway, if someone out there could help please let me know.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Brandow

Most program applications have closed, but look into RSI an SSP for next year.

Edit: To clarify, by "most" I meant to include very slight possibilities. I could estimate it to "all" as it is extremely unlikely for any such programs to still have open applications for this summer. You should have been more diligent in your planning this year, but there's still next year, and you can still have a scientifically productive summer by studying through textbooks and online lectures. If you want to get a closer look at whatever field, topic, or research you find yourself most interested in then you can contact a professor at a local college/university and ask if he would be able to help you.

I don't want to sound like an old fuddy duddy as I am only middle aged, but science is all around us in nature, and even sailing or camping trips can be mentally rewarding.

Albeit I am somewhat pressed to think of what sort of natural activities would suit your desire for Organic Chemistry aside from the fact that nature itself is your subject of choice.

Perhaps just thinking where you want to go might make your specialty clear. If you opt for sailing over camping then the majority of marine science related chemistry would fall under organic chemistry.

Adventuring can build character and give you reasons to apply things you have learned.
