Ophiolite Posted June 17, 2014 Share Posted June 17, 2014 Meanwhile New Horizons moves towards Pluto at almost 15 kms/second and is only just over three Astronomical Units away from the dwarf planet. It is currently about the same distance from the sun as Neptune. http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/mission/whereis_nh.php The encounter with Pluto and its companion Charon will take place in July next year.
