Showing certain symbols

How do I indicate or show square root sign, super script and sub script? How do I use latex in the forum?

Example;

[math] x^{2}  = \sqrt{1-a_{2}y^{4}}[/math]

[math] x^{2} = \sqrt{1-a_{2}y^{4}}[/math]

Use the math tags as I wrote in the code box.

Alternately you can do one of two other ways

 

1. Type your equation in latex.

2. Highlight.

3. Click Third icon along on top row

4. Scroll down to Latex and click OK

 

or

 

1. Click Third icon along on top row

2. Scroll down to Latex

3. Type or paste your equation into the box

4. Click OK

 

If you click More Reply Options in bottom right of this box then you will get a chance to preview
