Hello! I have a question and I have no idea of the answer. Could you help? A negative RNA enveloped virus, extremely pathogenic for humans, has recently been discovered. Its pathogenicity is caused by a total inhibition of the type I interferon response by two viral proteins: the capsid protein and the RNA dependent RNA polymerase. On the other hand, the adaptive response is quite competent. Which of the following vaccine strategies (attenuated viruses, DNA, recombinant proteins, viral pseudo particles, retro or lentiviral vectors) would be the most appropriate to protect the population against this virus and which would be as dangerous as the virus itself and why?
