Align atoms by vacuum

I made an experiment where I tried to align atoms by vacuum and I was successful. Would you have thought that it works? My question is now you can also produce magnets made of copper which only attract Copper? Or Gold?Can it be that we only send ferromagnetic electricity over the lines?
