How do I copy paste when answering to a topic?

The copy paste in the toolbar does not seem to work.

This is a copy/paste. I would use my computer's shortcuts for this.

This is a quote. It copies what others have said so you can make your reply more specific to what was said. You can use the Quote or Multi-Quote buttons at the bottom of every post.

I have had this problem sometimes.

It seems to depend upon which browser and operating system you are using and what the settings are, particularly older ones.

So please tell us what system and browser you are using.

Yes it is a problem with the forum software not playing nice with all browsers. But as I explain at the other thread I linked to, there is a workaround.

In the post edit box, click the little toggle switch in the upper left corner. Then you can quote, copy, & paste. You can enter url's and hand key quotes or any edit function that uses BBcode. Here's a page for our BB codes: Science Forum BB codes

For example, I typed this to get that link: Science Forum BB codes

If you want to use emoticons, flip the toggle switch back or type the code. :)

Thank you Acme, but it doesn't always work.

That is the problem.

There are some issues out of control of this (or any) website due to scripting in adverts (which arise offsite).

Sometimes I can't scroll properly without turning all scripting off.

Then I loose some site functionality, but at least I can read the posts.

You're welcome. Nothing always works but if my method works for Itoero then that's good enough.
