I wanna experiment using KClO4. however, I know, KClO4 is easily humid. and humid KClO4 is not fit for this experiment. so, I would try to dry KClO4. of course, I read MSDS of KClO4, but I couldn't get enough information. is it not bad drying KClO4 in the oven for 120℃? or are There other method help me and give me some information. because I'm not good at english, My explanation is not enough... sorry.. studiot Posted November 8, 2014 Share Posted November 8, 2014 Potassium Chlorate is poisonous (used a weedkiller); it is also dangerous for other reasons. mississippichem Posted November 8, 2014 Share Posted November 8, 2014 I agree with studiot. Chlorates and perchlorates are best handled by those who know their chemistry. It's been my experience that chlorates can be a bit more unpredictable than perchlorates but I would still recommend that you find someone more experienced to help you with this. Thanks for your replies. because I already dried LiClO4 in glove box at previous experiments, so I think that the case of KClO4 is similar LiClO4.... frankly speaking, I want to increase O2 pressure in quartz tube, using decomposition of KClO4, maybe over 4atm, so I had my questions, because I think that humidity of KClO4 is not good Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
