I have a question: why did you bother putting that in a PDF when it is just plain text?

 

I have another question: why is the text formatted so badly as to make it almost illegible? I gave up trying to read it.

 

And another one: predict earthquakes? Really? How far in advance? Can you tell us the exact time and location of the next earthquake of greater than magnitude 7 in Japan?

the pdf is not to me, i found it in internet research, i show it for said that there are scientists that are see it (corona),

the attach files is translated from French text, the pdf is write in French and i wanted to show it to you,

i am a French Canadian(from Québec city, Québec, Canada) and i write badly in English, i have had help for google translate, excuse me if it is badly translate,

I do not know How far advance it wil be( the earthquaques), but it wil be before and in the same time than ionizated air,

the author that i have cited, surely know it.

Earthquakes making electric fields in advance in the atmosphere: this has been investigated many times; I didn't follow the state of research. But electric power lines would be an excellent place to detect them, sure.

 

Instead of corona discharges, which are badly reproducible, you could measure the voltage on the line and extract the information by signal processing. Preferably, do it at several distant power lines, to discriminate a local quake from a global aurora borealis.

 

The general impression of the linked Pdf is that is lacks numbers - because numbers that fit distinguish a good theory:

- If possible, how strong is the field, the resulting voltage induced in the power line, the possible corona effect. Very difficult for Earth science, sure.

- Or observation over some time, in Greece/Japan/California... See how often quakes and coronas are correlated, and how often each appears without the other. Correlated coronas with the weather as well, which is a bigger cause. With Solar flares as well.

I would like to point out that in a conference of the cassiopee Astronomy club, Yolande Coté (maybe) asked radio astronomer Pierre Laporte if his radio astronomy equipement coud detect earthquaques, i can't remember his answer, then i pointed out that i think it is possible because geologists have already detected crown effects before an earthquaques.

I hope this idea will be tested if it has never been!

There has been research on electromagnetic precursors to earthquakes, but you need something a lot more sensitive (and quantifiable) than corona discharges around pylons (which are going to be affected more by weather).

Tank you for this post and this link, yes it must rain or have a good dew for a corona effect on a pylon tip, also the direction of the wind can harm for other means as for example radio astronomy, all electric signals in Earth's atmosphere has its advantages and disadvantages, we must pay attention to all these electric signals!

I hope that research in these areas will stil yield good  results!
