Externet 156 Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) Found that most people often dream about being chased, with physical difficulty to run away or escape from the chase but never getting caught. This is not about the meaning of such or especulate an explanation; but the common scenario to many. How many unrelated different personalities and personal life intricacies can experience such common dream ! ----> Do you get that one too ? Endy0816 451 Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) Your brain senses movement via a feedback system(proprioception). ie. Move hand 5 inches - Hand has moved 5 inches. Your muscles, however, are(mostly) immobilized during REM sleep. So your brain is sending out movement commands and ends up not getting any return signals. It is something of a bug in the system. Common though since we are all human. Edited September 3, 2013 by Endy0816

That is probably my most common dream in the category of 'dreams I don't like'. It occurs slightly more often than scary snakes, and me realizing I'm about to be caught cheating with some beautiful model. (I'm sure if I asked my wife if it was okay with her if I had sex with a beautiful model, given the opportunity, she would manage to stop laughing long enough to say yes.)
