It's not a good idea for an older person with high blood pressure, but I doubt it would have any adverse affects on a younger person. Of course, eating something salty will make you thirsty, so you'll have to deal with that. I would think your best bet would be not to drink a lot of anything before hand. Just a few sips of water.
