Testing special relativity :)

Are there any experiments I would ideally be able to do, say, on my lawn with cheap equipment, to test special relativity? :)

Could one reproduce the Michelson-Morley experiment? (A.A. Michelson and E.W. Morley, “On the Relative Motion of the Earth and the Luminiferous Ether”, Am. J. Sci. (3rd series) 34 333–345 (1887))

The experimental basis of special relativity is reviewed by Tom Roberts and Siegmar Schleif here.

Look at a cathode ray tube. If the image gets proper colours at the edges, it's because relativistic effects on electron deflection are accounted for. They would be several pixels off.

At an ion implanter, at an electronic microscope... special relativity makes very significant changes. Not really on your lawn.
