I would like to discuss numerology, which is the study of numbers in everyday life.

You can assign a different number to every letter of the alphabet, so a=1, b=2, c=3, ... ,z=26.

You could add up the number for each letter in a word, so the word 'rat' would be r=18, since it is the 18th letter of the alphabet, a=1, since it is the 1st letter of the alphabet, and t=20, since it is the 20th letter of the alphabet. 18+1+20=39, so 'rat' would equal 39. You could do the same for other words.

A different numerology method would be to accept every prime number as good, and since every composite number is a product of factors of prime numbers, every composite number could be accepted as good. Since there are only prime and composite natural numbers, every number can be accepted as good.

Please let me know what you think of these numerology methods.

Best wishes,

IsaacAsimov

People also used to believe in God at one time. Now we have science.Maybe nowadays people are becoming too blinkered but I haven`t seen any research to support or discount numerology.Maybe the sceptics could share their data?

It's torture.

One lesser reason not to use torture as a means of obtaining data from captured enemies (the moral reasons trump everything) is that torture doesn't work.

When they are in pain, people will say anything to get the pain to stop. Most of the time, they will lie, make up anything to make you stop hurting them," he [Ali Soufan, a former FBI special agent] says. "That means the information you're getting is useless."

The exact same concept applies to numerology. It is a numerical torturing of data and text. Torture that data and text long enough / hard enough and it will tell you just about anything. The information you're getting is useless.

So what's a strange claim ?

take the post number and hours from the minute of your post 32- 5- 6 = 21

take the month from the day of the post 15 - 4 = 11

take all the numbers of day month and post , add them, and add the results 6+0+5+3+2-> 16 =7

moving on to the year and your post number take post number from the century 20th added to the year 12 20+12 - 32 = 1

tally the keystrokes in So what's a strange claim? = 26

add all the digits of the number of this thread 67129 together = 26

take the number of this thread 67129 from the number of your post 684633 -> 617504 add the digits ->23 add again = 5

multiply the numbers of the thread 67129 together -> 756 and then add the digits = 18

Take basic susbstitution cypher of a=1 b=2

21,11,7,1,26,26,5,18 ==>> ukgazzer
