Hey all,

I'm in grade 12 and looking into college programs, here's the two i came up with: biological technician and food and drug technician. I am currently set up to take the college route (3 year program) then get credited for 2 of 3 years at a university program, which i will then complete. I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on which college would be best for this. I live in Ontario, Canada so an Ontario college would be preferred, but it must definately be in Canada. The two i was looking at were loyalist and durham college, i checked out mohawk, centennial and some other one, but their programs didn't seem to be what i am interested in. If you guys have any thoughts on a better school or ideas about what my possible starting pay and ending pa will be, better yet if there is someone who took one of these programs, do you have any advice?

thanks everybody, it's takin me forever to decide what i want to do with my life, so the more input the better, does one have a brighter future. My old biology teacher said that biotechnology is going to be like computers when they first came out.

I am, susprisingly, facing the same problem... except that I am not in canada but I am still undecided on my career option! so i took all three bio, phy, and chem for A-levels... just to keep my options open but I would also like to know what is the most worthwhile science career right now (i am interested in all sciences, except computer science!!) that is most likely to boom in the 3 to 4 years. thanks!

in my opinion, the choice of what college or university to attend is entirely yours. i do not know anything about any canadian colleges, but i do know about a lot of extremely good american colleges if you change your mind.

in response to mak10....i think that the fields of science that are most likely to boom in a few years are pharmeceuticals and medical technologies. these are very likely to provide a lot of research opporotunities, but i think that you need to think about what you would like to spend the rest of your life doing, rather than thinking about what will "boom".

i hope this helped....leave a response if you have any comments regarding this post.

Duke University in Durhan, North Carolina http://www.duke.edu/medical/index.html

Johns Hopkins in Baltimore Maryland would be hard to beat. http://www.jhu.edu/

University of Virginia, at Charlottesville

Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, MN would be closest to Canada

What does a biological or food and drug technician do?

And, why not just go to University in the first place?
