I had done a experiment at my home.In the normal water from my tap, i found that it conducts AC but not DC,why?

I see your problem. You might have used two or three 1.5V batteries to light a bulb using tap water as conductor. That won't do. Tap water still has a lot of resistence and the power supply is low here.
