Concentration of H+

Recommended Posts

Suppose now we have two acids

A. 10 cm3 of 1M sulphuric acid

B. 10 cm3 of 1M hydrochloric acid

I just want to ask how should I calculate in order to know which acid has a higher concentration of H+

Try looking at your concentration formula as well as the molecular formulae (H2SO4 (H3O+ + HSO4+(Water Solution)) & HCl (H3O+ and Cl- (water solution))) for both of the substances.

Its been awhile since I've done those so I'm not entirely sure, as I finished school two years ago and haven't really had a look at those since.

If someone with more knowledge on the topic could help it would be great

Hope it helps :)

Think about the definition of an acid, then the formulae of the two acids.
