Cell Wall in Fungus-like Protists

Recommended Posts

Some protists produce polysaccharide cell walls such as Phytophthora (here cellulose). There have been reports of chitin in cyst walls of Giardia and Entamoeba but not as major component and perhaps more assemblages of n-acetyl glucosamine more than chitin in a fungal structural context.
