qzno
I have a quick Spectrophotometry question! A solution of the nucleotide base uracil, in a 1mm cuvette, has an absorbance at 260 nm of 0.65. Pure solvent in a matched quartz cuvette has an absorbance of 0.07. What is the molar concentration of the uracil solution? Assume the molar absorption coefficient is 8.2 x 103 M-1 cm-
Greippi
Well, this looks suspiciously like homework. All you need to do is plug the figures into your basic equation, so what part are you stuck on precisely? If it's not homework: was the spectrophotometer "zeroed" using clear solvent before measuring the uracil solution?
