Hi, Ime mike a mad inventor who is currently constructing a gun of my own design capable of firing a high speed vortex of high vacuum plasma for use in space to disable grounded missiles its also capable of being fired at ground level and of haveing no re-coil due to vacuum ejection of a stable high rotational vortex formed in the barrel and exelerated by reduction...Its fired by first evacuating a chamber of air sealed by a birst disc then chargeing a bank of capacitors which are fired into two coils front-A and back-B of a (triggatron-open air spark gap made out of x4 platinum electrodes..) as plasma forms it is impacted by two electromagnetic fields proventing expansion into the vacuum, but adding kinetic energy in the form of heat, the plasma is ejected by the front-A coil through an apiture within the e.m.field and through the birst disc........ well there you have it

first, it will have recoil, if it fires something forward, it will move the gun back. conservation of momentum this even happens with lasers.

if fired in the atmosphre it would have a very short range, if any.

in space the plasma would diffuse quickly. the weapons range again would be extremely limited.

I found a table of the "distance an electron will travel before coming to rest" in air. One whose kinetic energy is 50KV goes 4.4 centimeters. One whose KE is 500KV goes 1.6 meters. One with 5MEV goes twenty meters. The curves of energy loss are interesting, as they are deep U-shapes, and for electrons in air the minimum for loss per centimeter is around one MEV.
